In case you didn't know...
The Shinkansen is coming to Northern Nagano (Iiyama) in 2015!!
...which means easy Tokyo/Kanazawa/Niigata access for us!
Hopefully, it also means an influx of tourists and tourism dollars (tourism yen?) into our cities and towns. To help make that happen, 9 cities, towns, and villages in Northern Nagano -- Iiyama ・ Iizuna ・Kijimadaira ・Myoko ・Nakano ・Nozawa Onsen・Sakae ・ Shinano ・Yamanouchi -- are working with the Iiyama-based Regional Tourism Promotion Section （広域観光推進室）to raise awareness of our area as a tourism destination spot.
The goal is to attract not only Japanese visitors, but also tourists from around the world. But we need your help! To appeal to English-speaking visitors, we're hoping to collect English-language info on the best restaurants/onsen/ski areas/hiking areas/bike trails/leaf viewing areas/etc in any of these cities and towns. We'd love to hear about your experiences, pretty much any length and any topic would be appreciated! Photos are also welcome (make sure to include where and when the photo was taken).
Anyone is welcome to submit! I'm also happy to work with non-native speakers who want to try writing in English, or Japanese speakers who would like to have their submission translated.
